Gary Smith, senior and founding partner of the firm, is a certified
family law specialist with the California Board of Legal Specialization.
Not only does this certify his ability and experience, but he has
also had a long and distinguished career as a civil trial attorney
in Southern California.
Kerri
L. Strunk and Jason A. Blonska also specialize exclusively in family
law, and these three attorneys, along with three outstanding paralegals,
make up the family law department of the firm.
Each
member of the firm is committed to intelligent, articulate, and thorough
attention to client matters. The firm emphasizes thorough preparation,

Gary Smith
E. Gary
Smith has over 30 years litigation experience, and is certified
by the California State Board of Specialization as a family
law specialist. He has tried hundreds of cases, is a gifted
litigator, and experienced negotiator.
Mr. Smith has a litigation background that makes him especially
effective in the family law arena. He was a name partner for
twenty years with the Los Angeles law firm of Booth, Mitchel,
Strange & Smith, a firm of approximately fifty-five attorneys.
He opened that firm’s Orange County office in 1979 and
was the senior partner there until he formed Smtih, Smith &
Kring in 1988. He was senior partner there until the formation
of Smith, Smith & Blonska, LLP. While he no longer practices
in the civil litigation arena (practicing exclusively in family
law), he continues to oversee and mentor those attorneys in
the firm that practice in the civil litigation arena.
He
is A-V rated with Martindale-Hubbell and is an at-large Director
of the Orange County Bar Association where he also serves on
the Outreach and Fee Arbitration Committees. He has also served
on the OCBA Judiciary Committee. |

Shaw Smith
Elizabeth
Shaw Smith has broad-based experience in handling a variety
of matters, with particular skill in the written process, including
complex motions, and appeals. Ms. Smith received her bachelor’s
and master's degrees in English from Brigham Young University
in 1971 and 1974. After a career as a book and magazine editor
and writer, Ms. Smith attended the University of Utah College
of Law, graduating in 1983.
While
in law school, Ms. Smith was chosen as a member of the Utah
Law Review and, as a senior law student, was selected as one
of the eight governing editors of the Law Review. She also served
on the moot court editorial board, directing the moot court
programs for first- and second-year students, and taught legal
writing and research to first-year law students. She was selected
as a Leary Scholar for her second and third years of law school
on the basis of academic achievement.
Ms.
Smith practiced law with the firm of Zobrist, Vienna & McCullough
prior to becoming one of the founding partners of Smith, Smith
& Kring, and continues with Smith, Smith & Blonska.
She is a past member of the Board of Directors of the J. Reuben
Clark Law Society.

Jason
A. Blonska
Jason Blonska is a partner with the firm. His practice is exclusively
family law, and he has handled hundreds of diverse family law
cases involving very complex issues. His acute analytical ability
and negotiating prowess has enabled him to assist clients even
in the most difficult cases. He graduated with distinction from
Western State Law School after completing his undergraduate
education at Tufts University, Boston campus. He then clerked
with Judge Paul in the Los Angeles Superior Court at a time
when Judge Paul had a heavy family law calendar. As a veteran
family law trial attorney, he is in court constantly on a variety
of legal matters, and has established loyal client following
as he has demonstrated his intellect, industry, and good sense
in the practice of law.

Kerri
L. Strunk
Kerri L.
Strunk obtained her J.D. degree from the UCLA School of Law
and has practiced exclusively in family law since that time.
Her undergraduate degree was a B.A. summa cum laude from Arizona
State University. During law school she clerked with the Western
Law Center for Disability Rights, Learning Rights Project, and
received valuable experience in problem solving. While with
Smith, Smith & Blonska Ms. Strunk has tried numerous long
cause trials, as well as handled every other kind of family
law matter. Her energy, intelligence, and her ability to articulate
to both the judge and opposing counsel set her above others
in her field of practice. She enjoys playing competitive league
soccer, snowboarding, and hiking. |

Shannon R. Thomas
Shannon Thomas is a skilled family law advocate, with exceptional credentials. Raised in the Claremont/San Dimas area, she completed her college and graduate work in Southern California. Following her BA (UC Irvine), she earned her Juris Doctorate at Pepperdine School of law in Malibu. Ms. Thomas then did graduate legal studies, completing a Masters of Alternate Dispute Resolution degree at Pepperdine’s Strauss Institute, the top-ranked dispute resolution program in the country. A family law practitioner for over six years, Ms. Thomas has also successfully completed the ABA’s intensive Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute program, enhancing her skills and competence as a trial lawyer. Ms. Thomas is active in the Orange County Bar Association and the Hispanic Bar Association of Orange County.

Leann K. Jandron
Leann K. Jandron earned her J.D. from Chapman University School of Law, where she obtained an emphasis certificate in tax law. While at Chapman, Ms. Jandron served as Vice President for the Family Law Society, and also volunteered in Chapman’s tax clinic and for VITA, assisting low income individuals with tax issues. She clerked for the Public Law Center in Orange County and interned with Legal Aid in Compton. Ms. Jandron graduated cum laude from University of California, Irvine, with double Bachelor of Arts degrees in Social Ecology and Women’s Studies. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Ms. Jandron is a dedicated runner who brings high energy and focus to the legal arena. |

Eccles
Faye Eccles, paralegal, has over twenty five years experience
in family law, and her versatility and competence provides a low-cost
benefit to our clients. She has a thorough grasp of all
phases of the litigation process. Ms. Eccles has taught
paralegal courses for the past twenty years at local colleges.

Yorn
Pat Yorn obtained her Post- Bachelorate Paralegal Certificate
from Cerritos College, and is presently attending Pacific Coast
University School of Law. She is an excellent family law paralegal
and provides low-cost, high-efficiency services to the clients

Elgin
Tracy
Elgin, paralegal, brings years of family law experience to assist
in the resolution of our clients' problems. Her consistently
cheerful and friendly attitude helps clients, attorneys, and
staff work together efficiently. Tracy is organized and energetic,
and has an unusual ability to track the details of a case, enabling
it to flow more smoothly through the process, whether in court
or in settlement negotiations. |

Kenneth
C. Hoagland
As the Business Manager of the firm, Kenneth C. Hoagland brings
strength and experience to the overall operations of Smith, Smith
and Blonska, LLP. Since earning his Bachelor’s Degree in
Business Management and Accounting from the University of Southern
California, Mr. Hoagland has had a 30-year career as a business
manager, controller, and chief financial officer for several corporations
throughout the Southern California area. He assists Smith, Smith
& Blonska, LLP with strategic business planning, organizational
and staff direction, operational and procedural development, and
long-range stability through sound financial management. Ken devotes
his non-career hours to his large family, the outdoors, and volunteering
for the Boy Scouts of America. |
