Our Office Procedures
INTRODUCTION TO OUR OFFICE
At Smith, Smith, Blonska & Strunk, our experienced staff is pleased to help you. The following information on our office procedures can help you plan your visits or telephone calls with us and help us meet your needs quickly and efficiently.
OFFICE HOURS
Our normal office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. On Friday our hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. We are closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving weekend, and the week between Christmas and New Years.
TELEPHONE CALLS
Please feel free to call when you have a question or need advice about your case.
Because we are frequently in court, you may at times be unable to reach one of our attorneys immediately. If an attorney cannot be reached, please feel free to talk with the paralegal or leave a voice mail message. Often the paralegal can help, and she always makes sure your message gets to the handling attorney.
All telephone calls are billed at our usual hourly rate. Each call is billed a minimum of one-tenth hour.
APPOINTMENTS
Appointments are required. The only way to make sure that the designated attorney or paralegal will be in the office and available to see you at a given time is to call and make an appointment before you come in.
COURT APPEARANCES
We will advise you well in advance of court dates. While your attendance is not required at all court appearances, it will frequently be necessary. It is important that you be on time for court appearances. Please be sure to review the witness suggestions before each court appearance. Directions and a map to the courthouse are on this website.
Although we do our best to speed things up, court appearances often involve considerable waiting. It never hurts to bring along a good book or magazine.
Occasionally, the court’s calendar is such that we have more than one court appearance on the same day. If that happens, we want you to know that you are not being charged for the time we are spending on someone else’s matter.
